We head to the World Heritage listed gateways of Kalbarri and Shark Bay, with accessible wildlife such as dolphins playing in the surf at Monkey Mia and eye-opening rock formations, you’ll be blown away by what we’ve managed to fit into this trip.
Day 1: Perth - Kalbarri
Beginning in Perth, we head into the strange and eerie Pinnacles Desert, with a guided walk through the limestone structures that reach up out of the golden desert sands, followed by a scenic lunch location by the sea and a stop in Geraldton. Stay overnight in the sleepy seaside town of Kalbarri, where the Murchison River flows out into the Indian Ocean. Meals: Lunch & Dinner. Accom: Kalbarri YHA Backpackers or similar. Driving Distance: 575km. Hike Distance: 2km.
Day 2: Kalbarri - Monkey Mia
Visit the marvels of The Murchison Gorge, Nature’s Window and Z-Bend in Kalbarri National Park where water has carved its way through sandstone. Here you have the option to try abseiling (additional cost). Witness bright pops of colour here during wildflower season (spring). Enjoy a great photo opportunity at Nature’s Window before strolling along Shell Beach, made of millions of tiny white shells. Then it’s on to Monkey Mia where we will stay right by the beach with resident dolphins at Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Accom: RAC Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort Backpackers or similar. Driving Distance: 450km. Hike Distance: 4km.
Day 3: Monkey Mia - Northampton
This morning we will meet the famous Monkey Mia Dolphins and get some up and close amazing photos. Choose to hire a Kayak and go for a paddle (optional extra), chill out on the beach or at the resort or search for turtles, dugongs, emus and kangaroos all who call this region home! We venture out to visit the breathing rock formations called The Stromatolites at Hamelin Pool, before we head towards our final night of the tour for a truly unique Australian overnight stay near Northampton. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Accom: Northbrook Farmstay or similar. Driving Distance: 385km. Hike Distance: 2km.
Day 4: Northampton - Perth
Enjoy the last views of the countryside, as we travel south towards Perth – the capital of Western Australia. Kick back and relax on the bus as you’ll have plenty of time to explore the sights on your return. Before returning to Perth in the afternoon. Meals: Breakfast. Accom: N/A. Driving Distance: 470km.
*A moderate to advanced level of fitness is required to complete the walks. Walks can be up to 3km in length, often over steep and rocky sections and in direct sunlight. Length of walks may vary and will be at the guide’s discretion.INCLUSIONS:
